The mission of all our programs is to prepare our students to be life-long learners.
The valuable contribution of our faculty towards the generation of knowledge, their dedication to providing par excellence learning eco-system, delivery of quality teaching, thoughtful mentoring ensure the future success of our students. Our ability to attract quality faculty members has stood us in good stead in our search for excellence and emerging as an outstanding center for learning.
The exceptional vision of our Chancellor Shri Amrish Patel and his outstanding leadership has helped the University to implement the strategic agenda focused on realizing the ambitious goals. The guidance provided by him has laid down the roadmap of comprehensive initiatives aiming at elevating every aspect of the University. In the last four decades, NMIMS has transformed from a management school to a multidisciplinary and multi-campus University. The University, having started its journey in 1981, today proudly encompasses a vast array of programs ranging from engineering and pharmacy, to biological sciences, law, performing arts, design, and aviation besides the management programs.
While we continue to strengthen the new schools and programs, our schools have been globally recognized. In terms of accreditation and international recognition, the business school has joined the league of top five percent of the business schools in the world after receiving the AACSB, accreditation. Our Bengaluru and Hyderabad campuses are the youngest institutions to have AMBA accreditation. With continuing efforts, NMIMS has grown significantly in terms of its credibility as one of the outstanding education destinations in India.
Several defining factors set the NMIMS University apart. The NMIMS is proud of having a unique industry partnership model that recognizes the role of the industry beyond the recruiter. The industry today is a part of institution governance, student selection process, program design and delivery, and also faculty research. Their contribution makes our students job-ready and guides them in their career goal paths. NMIMS has also co-invested with industry in establishing specialized research and training centers. Further, NMIMS focuses on the development of cognitive, interpersonal and execution skills besides strengthening the foundations of the learner. The consequence of this has been an outstanding placement track record.
We benchmark our programs and processes with the best in class and continue to endeavour to outperform our targets. For us, excellence is a journey and not a destination.
NMIMS also believes that it has a role in the transformation of society. It is with this perspective that our campus at Shirpur offers diploma courses in textiles for the local tribal population.
The programs cater to first-generation learners in their families. In the last decade, the students of this program have been placed in the textile industry in India. This has led to the transformation of families and a whole generation. Also, our students today engage themselves in several civic and societal issues through social responsibility forums and the Jasani Center for Social Entrepreneurship and Sustainability Management. Over the last decade, through the WeCare Program, we observe a transformation occurring in our students towards becoming socially responsive than they are when they join the NMIMS University.
It is an honor and a privilege to be part of the NMIMS University at this extraordinary juncture in Its history. These are challenging times for higher education and our world.

Our significant journey in the field of education started in the year 1981 when Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal (SVKM) established the now world famous, Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) in Mumbai. This was done to cater to the growing demand for management Education in our country. The management institute, which was initially recognised by the Mumbai University, was accorded the Deemed to be University status in 2003 by the Government of India on UGC's recommendation. This was in recognition to NMIMS'contribution to management education, industry and institution building.
Our focus has been to innovate and create educational programs that are relevant to the needs of the industry and society.
Today, NMIMS has 17 schools and 16 disciplines. Its programs are in the fields of management, engineering & technology management, pharmaceutical sciences, architecture, biological and nano sciences, business, commerce and economics, law, liberal arts, design, entrepreneurship and family business, hospitality management, agricultural sciences & technology, mathematical sciences, etc. It is today a multidisciplinary and multi campus institution accredited by national bodies like NAAC and NBA at the highest level. Its management institution is accredited by AACSB, and its Bengaluru and Hyderabad programs are accredited by AMBA.
It has always been NMIMS”s goal to enhance the employability of graduates. The programs are backed by research, a sound curriculum and delivered by faculty who have been educated and trained at some of the best educational institutions in the country and abroad. The NMIMS academic infrastructure is at par with the best in the world today.
Besides, with the faculty actively engaged in academic research, we are committed to making NMIMS a centre for outstanding learning experience. We believe that given the socioeconomic dynamics of our nation, NMIMS has a special role to play in enhancing the employability of young Indians and helping the economy acquire a competitive edge.

Dear Students,
I must begin by congratulating you for successfully completing your higher secondary education and also for getting admission to various programs in prestigious NMIMS University Indore Campus.
I can confidently say that you are going to have best years of your student lives in coming years till your respective graduations.
You have to understand that from this point onwards you not only have to learn but have to learn how to learn
Education is not only about the domain knowledge in chosen stream but also about character building. Kulapati Shri K.M. Munshi says – "It is not enough to be a good engineer or a good doctor but we all also should learn to become a good son or daughter, good brother or sister, a good husband or good wife”
The mechanism of learning has to be readapted by you all. It will have to be more of "learning by doing” as the great scientist Albert Einstein also believes "The only source of knowledge is experience."
Now coming to city of Indore, you must have heard a lot about it. This city with large industry base will help you to interact and work with them. There are institutes around like IIT, IIM and other which will challenge you to do your best in various student’s activities. We at NMIMS will help you to pursue your vision on all fronts and take charge of your career.
Further Indore offers a wonderful cosmopolitan culture with full opportunities to spare your energies for the cause of the society. It will depend upon you how you explore this opportunity and contribute to the society. The society, teachers and parents have very high hope from you and I am sure you stand tall by your deeds. NMIMS Indore campus inherits its blood-cells from the NMIMS School of Business and Indore as a city makes it sure to co-operate as a socio-economic hub for nurturing academic excellence.
